Middle East Gold Mine! FITMI Instantly Locks onto Wheel-Hub Giant SCO
An entrepreneurial delegation jointly organized by the Middle East Trade & Promotion Association and the Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries (FITMI) officially visited SYNERGIES CASTINGS OMAN (“SCO”) in the Sohar Port Free Zone. The mission: deepen cross-regional manufacturing exchanges and pinpoint Oman’s new “smart manufacturing” coordinates.
Strategic Scale: The Middle East’s Flagship Aluminum Alloy Wheel Producer
Founded in 2017 as a joint venture between India’s wheel-hub leader Synergies Castings and Omani capital, SCO covers 70,000 m² and has a total investment of US $100 million. Designed annual capacity: 1.2–2.2 million wheels. Today SCO is the largest, most highly automated aluminum alloy wheel production base in the Middle East.
On-Site Research: Full-Process Intelligent Production System
Under the warm reception of CEO Ahmed Al-Riyami and detailed guidance of Plant Director Ravi Kumar, the delegation toured five core smart workshops—casting, flow-forming, machining, coating, and inspection. The team focused on the plant’s MES (Manufacturing Execution System), learning how digital tools enable one-code traceability and zero-defect quality control.
Cooperation Vision: Jointly Tapping the Eurasian–African Market Blue Ocean
Entrepreneurs on the tour said the visit radically updated their view of Middle-East industrialization. Thanks to direct molten-green-aluminum supply, advanced low-pressure casting, and flow-forming technology, SCO offers world-beating technical specs and cost control—an ideal strategic foothold for entering Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Future Outlook
Next phase: the Middle East Trade & Promotion Association, FITMI, and SCO will establish a standing communication mechanism to collaborate on supply-chain synergy, cutting-edge tech transfer, and free-zone policy dividends, jointly unlocking the vast potential of “Made in Oman” and helping member companies seize first-mover advantage in the reshaping global supply chain.
